Joint Replacement Outcomes Clinic (JROC)

The Joint Replacement Outcomes Clinic (JROC) in Royal Perth Hospital provides ongoing monitoring of orthopaedic patients after Total Hip and Knee Joint Replacement surgery.

For directions to the clinic, see the map.

The clinic is located in the main hospital on Wellington Street on Level 3, R Block, opposite the green lifts at the end of the Orthopaedic ward 3H.

Patients are reviewed at one year, then five years, and every five years after that, allowing doctors and physiotherapists to monitor the long-term functionality and performance of the replaced hips and knees.

Patients will also be followed up by their orthopaedic surgeon post-operatively often at two weeks, six weeks and three months and then discharged to JROC.

Any results and concerns are fed back to the Orthopaedic surgeons and to patient's GPs.

We analyse vital information about joint replacement surgery, allowing the team to monitor all hip and knee replacements in the longer term.

By closely monitoring the progress, we can recognise potential problems and intervene when needed.

We also use the information to improve our service within the Royal Perth Bentley Group.
