Consumer Partnerships

Partnering with Consumers to advise on the delivery of our services

The Royal Perth Bentley Group (RPBG) Consumer Advisory Committee (CAC) establishes a formal partnership between consumers, carers, community representatives and RPBG so we can better understand the consumer experience.

In addition to the RPBG CAC, RPBG also has a Mental Health specific consumer group known as the LEAG (Lived Experience Advisory Group) as well as a Consumer and Carer Pool (Pool) to provide flexible opportunities for our consumers to engage with us.

Members of the CAC and LEAG and the Pool are asked their opinions and advice about our services, policies, publications and projects. They provide support and guidance on relevant issues to improve the hospital experience for patients, consumers, their families and their carers.

The CAC and LEAG meet monthly and the Pool are contacted as an when needed. They are both supported by the Consumer Engagement Team.

Co-design means to share the power in decision making, design, delivery and evaluation and listening to and hearing the voice of the consumer/carer.

If you have a project starting or would like input from a consumer/carer for any other reason, please consider:

  • that consumers may share their own experience and contribute a broader perspective
  • in what capacity would you like a consumer/carer representative to be involved e.g. committee, working group, ad-hoc workshop or general feedback on policy, publications etc.
  • how many participants would you need for useful feedback as we can set up workshops with a few consumers/carer to provide active participation.
