Voluntary Transport Program
The Voluntary Transport team is a lifeline for patients who have no other way of getting to our hospital.
Our team picks up and drops off patients at Royal Perth Hospital. We also help patients to get from the Voluntary Transport vehicle to their appointment in the hospital building.
The service began in 1936 when a group of doctors’ wives borrowed vehicles to take patients, who were unable to find transport, to and from our hospital.
Most of our drivers are retired people who enjoy being able to contribute to our community. We are always looking for new volunteers.
If you interested in becoming a driver, please contact the Voluntary Transport Team.
