GPs
Our hospital
We service adult patients, generally aged 16 and over.
Apart from designated state-wide services, patients being referred should reside in our metropolitan catchment or the Kimberley, Pilbara and Wheatbelt.
Our services
At Royal Perth Hospital, we have:
- an Ambulatory Unit with 10 beds for patients who are too sick for community care but not sick enough for Emergency care. Provides same-day rapid access to assessment, diagnostics and treatment so that patients spend hours, rather than days in hospital.
- an Acute Admissions Unit with 52 beds for patients with non-elective acute medical conditions (stays up to 72 hours).
- an Outpatients service which receives more than 115,000 referrals and provides more than 330,000 outpatient appointments each year.
- an Emergency Department which sees more than 84,000 patients a year, including 1,500 who are priority one (resuscitation) cases and 500 major trauma cases.
