The Royal Perth Bentley Group Speech Pathology Team treats inpatients and outpatients with a range of problems including swallowing, communication and voice disorders.

Our services include:

• Assessment and management of communication impairments
• Aphasia (language impairment)
• Cognitive communication impairment
• Dysarthria (speech impairment)
• Individual and group therapy for communication disorders
• Alternative communication devices
• Dysphonia (voice disorder)
• Advanced practice clinic working with ear, nose and throat (ENT) services
• Gender affirming voice training
• Assessment and management of swallowing disorders (dysphagia)
• Instrumental swallowing assessments
• Statewide Complex Dysphagia clinic
• Video fluoroscopy Swallow assessment
• Flexible endoscopic evaluation of swallow
• Tracheostomy management
• Laryngectomy management
• Management of chronic cough and inducible laryngeal obstruction
• Education and counselling for family and carers; and
• Student clinical training

We focus on acute care, including diagnosis and early management.
