Sexual Health

Royal Perth Hospital offers a multidisciplinary sexual health service to treat patients with sexually transmitted diseases/infections (STDs/STIs) including:

  • chlamydia
  • gonorrhoea
  • genital herpes
  • genital warts
  • HIV/AIDS
  • syphilis.

Services and treatments include:

  • CO2 laser treatment service
  • high resolution anoscopy service
  • pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP).

The department can also offer treatment designed to prevent infection in people exposed to sexual diseases through non-occupational post-exposure prophylaxis (NPEP) and contact tracing. Patients can be provided with access to a range of clinical trials and research studies.

If needed, the department can refer patients to a Clinical Psychologist, Social Worker, Counsellor or Women’s Health Physiotherapist.
