Gender Diversity Service
Royal Perth Hospital offers services for patients 18-years-old and over with a transgender/ non-binary gender identity seeking medical and/ or allied health input to affirm their gender.
Patients may be referred for:
- Gender affirmation pathway counselling, assessment and commencement/ stabilisation of gender affirming therapy including hormone therapy
- Re-assessment to access treatment or surgical pathways
- Medical or mental health follow up where new problems have arisen
- Access to PBS subsidised Testosterone prescription
Referrals
Referrals are accepted through the Central Referral Service
Critical information for referral includes:
- Patients preferred name and pronouns
- Previous WPATH assessment/ Psychology engagement
- Previous Gender Affirming Hormone Therapy status
Current wait times are over 12 months for the first appointment.
