On Friday 1 June Royal Perth Bentley Group staff wore their silliest and most outrageous socks to work to raise awareness of and support mental health conditions.

Clinical A/Prof Elizabeth Wylie, Head of Department Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology, said doctors and their allies put their best foot forward and helped to raise awareness of mental health and its impact on the medical profession.

“Mental health doesn’t discriminate and I think it’s important to recognise that we can all pull our socks up and work together in support of mental health,” said Elizabeth.

“Crazysocks4docs day is the perfect time to show support for not just doctors, but family, friends and colleagues that may also be struggling with a mental health condition.”

BreastScreen WA Medical Practitioner Sarah Paton and Radiologist Mei Chin also put their best foot forward by wearing their most flamboyant socks in support of this great initiative.

Dr Geoffrey Toogood, a long-time advocate for mental health, started #crazysocks4docs in 2017 to help support doctors’ mental health.
