RPH's Stroke Superheroes

Stroke Week 2019 display
September 5, 2019

This week is National Stroke Week, and at Royal Perth Hospital the Ward 8A – Stroke and Neurology Stroke Superheroes are educating staff, patients and visitors on how to act fast and recognise signs of stroke. This includes offering free health checks to assess risk factors that may contribute to stroke likelihood, such as the most common risk factor – high blood pressure.

The team have been hard at work to raise awareness of how important it is recognise signs of stroke and that a fast response and early treatment is critical to achieving positive outcomes for patients that experience a stroke. Every person who recognises the signs of stroke is a superhero!

National Stroke Week is the Stroke Foundation’s annual awareness campaign, urging Australians when they recognise the F.A.S.T. signs of stroke to call an ambulance and possibly save a life.
