Congratulations to Royal Perth Bentley Group’s Peripheral Parenteral Nutrition (PPN) team, who have been judged the winner of the Working in Partnerships Category in the Rotary Allied Health Excellence Awards for 2018.

The annual Awards recognise the outstanding work of allied health professionals and are a joint venture between the Rotary Clubs of Mt Lawley and West Perth and the Department of Health’s Chief Health Professions Office.

The PPN team were responsible for the implementation of this important nutritional support for vulnerable and complex patients at Royal Perth Hospital, the first hospital in WA to establish this nutrition therapy option.

The successful implementation relied on teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration and delivers to patients positive outcomes such as having a less invasive procedure, more timely nutritional support and increased nutrition provision, and the PPN is also more cost effective for the organisation.

RPBG Dietetics and Nutrition Service Head of Department, Wayne Epton nominated the multidisciplinary team for the award. The team consists of staff from pharmacy (Sean Lewis, Reeham Abu-Rgeef, Holly Signal and Sarah Grantham), dietetics (Heather Falck and Anisah Inayat-Hussain) and medical (Kenji So, Shankar Menon, Sudhakar Rao, Suresh Navadgi and Cecilia Wee).

Congratulations to the team on their fantastic Category win.
