2015 White Ribbon Day

December 11, 2015

On 25 November 2015 Royal Perth Hospital social workers and Emergency Department staff wore white or white ribbons in support of White Ribbon Day.

White Ribbon Day aims to prevent violence against women by changing community attitudes and behaviours.

Royal Perth Hospital Social Work Manager Alex Cann said social workers and Emergency Department staff are often involved in the assessment, treatment and care of patients who have experienced domestic violence.

“White Ribbon Day was an opportunity for our teams to support this cause and take a stand against domestic violence in our community.”

“As an organisation this was a chance to engage in conversations about family domestic violence and take a united approach to addressing these issues in our community,” Alex said.
